The reasons for juicing are fairly simple. Research consistently shows that people who eat the greatest quantity of fruits and vegetables are the most likely to have a long and healthy life. That’s why the latest “food pyramid” from USDA now recommends nine servings of fruits and vegetables along with three servings of whole grains as part of a healthy, 2,000-calorie per day diet.

Now, those nine servings are a tall order, even for the most disciplined eater, but Juicing using a Vitamix (or blender-like juicer) can make ‘eating’ those nine servings a lot easier.  Even better, juicers like the Vitamix juicer makes the nutrients in the fruits and vegetables more “bioavailable.”

Bioavailability refers to the amount of the substance that the body actually digests and absorbs. It relates to the amount of the nutrients that are absorbed by the intestinal tract, which is where most of our nutrients are absorbed.

During the month of January we are offering a class called Juicing for Vitality, which includes several energy-boosting juices that will enhance your over-all health and vitality. These juices will promote removal of toxins, boost immunity, and regulate blood pressure and blood sugar levels. These high-power, energy stimulating juices also contain high amounts of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents, reverse the signs of aging and stimulate digestion.
