As part of its new resort offerings, Travaasa Hana on Maui’s eastern shore recently debuted the islands only hotel archery experience. Certified archery instructors who are longtime hotel employees and Hana residents lead the two-hour activity, which takes place twice a week near the hotels turn-of-the-century Plantation Guest House in Hana and is available exclusively to resort guests.
We’re pleased to be the only hotel on Maui to offer archery, said Karyn Johnson, program manager at Travaasa Hana. Our expansive lawn area, quietly swaying palm trees, and Hanas breathtaking natural beauty create the perfect backdrop for this unique and enriching experience.
By participating in this activity, resort guests can learn and practice the foundation of archery while boosting mental attention and physical performance in a fun way. The resort’s archery instructors were trained in the Junior Olympic Archery Development program and certified by USA Archery. They teach techniques to develop focus, patience, flexibility, concentration, and attention skills to help understand why great archers develop these simple concepts to heighten all aspects of their lives. Archery complements Travaasa Hana’s existing adventure programming, which includes throw net fishing, coastal horseback rides, bicycle tours, and more. Travaasa Hana also incorporates culinary, culture, fitness, and spa/wellness activities into its extensive programming lineup. All activities reflect the local traditions and small town flavor of Hana.
The archery experience is offered at no additional charge to all guests staying at Travaasa Hana. Sign-ups are first come, first serve, and are limited to six guests per class.
