The autumn season is always a highly anticipated time of year as the hot summer months dwindle away and eventually transition into crisp, refreshing fall days. Travaasa celebrates Harvest Month each October, relishing in the year’s experiences up to now and preparing our minds and bodies for the final months ahead. From fitness activities to seasonal culinary favorites, Harvest Month is one of our favorite times of the year at Travaasa.
Comfortable Temperatures. No matter if you’re visiting Austin or Hana, you can almost always expect fantastic weather this time of year. With ocean temperatures in the eighties and the trade winds still blowing through the Hawaiian palms, October is an ideal time to visit the island and explore the surrounding paradise. Austin experiences a break in the hot summer weather come October. With warm days and cool nights, autumn is a lovely time to tour the Texas Hill Country on horseback or mingle with other guests by the fire after dinner each night.
Seasonal Brews. Autumn is arguably the best season for delicious harvest brews and pumpkin ales. Our beermeister has selected some delicious local brews for you to sample and toast the spirit of the season.
Outdoor Fitness. Along with the cooling temperatures comes the opportunity to get back outside without the threat of a heat stroke interrupting your afternoon jog. Whether it’s starting the morning with a yoga class on the back porch or wrapping up the day with a brisk jog through the park, there is nothing quite like exercising outdoors in the fall. The refreshing, crisp air does wonders for both your mind and body.
If you’re heading to Austin or Hana this October, you can look forward to even more Harvest Month fun:
October holds the true essence of Harvest Month with the Find Dining program at Travaasa Austin. This personalized harvest and gardening class begins with a tour of the Travaasa Farm including the greenhouse, chicken coop, perennial herb garden, vegetable field and hugelkultur beds. Guests are then invited into the fields to personally harvest the crops to be prepared by the culinary team. The personalized farm-to-table meal is then served in the farm grove beneath beautiful, expansive oak trees.
This fall, celebrate Hawaiian culture during the Festivals of Aloha, a favorite event of locals in Hana. A week’s worth of activities will include a town parade, fishing tournament, Hawaiian music, and activities at Travaasa Hana.
