While the traditional swing set may seem like a modern concept, people have enjoyed the exhilaration of swinging from vines and ropes for centuries. An ancient Greek pot dated from 525 BC shows an image of a smiling woman playing on a swing, while a 7th century fresco portrays Saint Proculus swinging on a rope. The world’s first playground swing is believed to date back to 1875 in London, with the United State’s first introduced in 1895 at Chicago’s Hull House playground. There’s just something about a swing that makes everyone feel like a kid again.
Now, at Travaasa, feel some childhood nostalgia as you swing 35 feet in the air on our adult version of this playground favorite. Strap in and hold on as you’re hoisted far above the Hill Country tree tops. Then pull the cord and off you go!
