Prickly Pear Challenge Course
Ever picked a prickly pear? If you have, you know the importance of each foot and hand placement as you find your way between the cactus needles. The same focus on movement is required as you navigate the space above the trees on our challenge course. Challenge your self-imposed limitations and overcome your fears as you navigate your way through our state-of-the-art course, which was designed in partnership with Outward Bound Professional and incorporates vertical climbing elements for a wide range of physical ability. At 35 feet in the air, you’ll discover your inner strength as you walk across the cables and telephone poles of our high ropes course. Begin at the Cob Web, then progress over Raider Bridge and through the Flying V to navigate Double Trouble. The linear progression of the course culminates with a fantastic reward: a 250-foot zipline flight soaring over the tree tops of Texas Hill Country.
Unleash your inner cowboy with a horseback ride along the scenic trails surrounding our Austin property. Whether you’re a first-time rider or experienced with horses, our expert cowboys will teach you how to work in harmony with your horse for an unforgettable experience. Before you know it, you’ll be guiding your horse over creeks, along mountain trails and through switchbacks during this gentle horseback ride through Austin’s hills. Riding properly requires constant physical activity and a focus on core strength, all the while creating an unspoken bond between yourself and your horse. Tap into the days of your childhood as you bike around this dirt track, using your body weight to make your way around the track without pedaling. Focus on the fundamentals and have fun challenging yourself to get all the way around without having to pedal, or take it to the next level by riding high and fast into the berms. Either way, you’ll take your appreciation for bike riding to the next level as you focus on mastering your technique. For the really adventurous and skilled rider, see how high you can go on the wall. Hill Country Hike
The cedars and oaks of Texas Hill Country are best experienced up close, and you’ll have a front row seat to Austin’s spectacular natural beauty during this Hill Country Hike. Even if you don’t think you’re into hiking, you’ll change your mind after you explore our rich and extensive trail system. This guided hike takes you through the hills, over a creek and into the untouched wilderness of the preserve surrounding Travaasa Austin. Along the way, you’ll learn about local flora, fauna and the history and ecology of the area. Hikes are open to all and accommodate a wide range of interests and abilities. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes and bring water.

Geocaching, an outdoor sporting activity often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek," involves the use of a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational technique to hide and search out containers, called "geocaches," anywhere in the world. And in your case, you’ll have the entire spectacular Travaasa property to explore while discovering and hiding your own caches. See the trails in a new light as you search for these hidden geocaches, many of which feature Austin themes. Inside, you’ll find a log to sign to mark your accomplishment — and there may just be a few tiny rewards waiting for you in the geocaches, too.
